DOMESTIC STAFF
20 HOURS PER WEEK (MONDAY - FRIDAY 9am - 1pm)
Hourly rate dependent on age, but higher than minimum wage.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with the cleaning of the home, reporting to the Head of Housekeeping
-
Regular cleaning of residents’ bathrooms and bedrooms
-
Regular cleaning of communal areas, such as lounges, hallways, stairways and dining room; including damp dusting, mopping and vacuuming and cleaning light switches, skirting boards and light fittings
-
Regular cleaning of communal bathrooms, including descaling tiles and showerheads and clearing plugholes

Empty waste bins on a daily basis

Cleaning of doors and windows as required

Clean spillages as required

Maintain cleaning equipment, reporting damage or faults to the Head of Housekeeping or the Registered Manager

Ensure cleaning materials are stored safely and replenished as necessary

Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
-
Participate in staff meetings and training as required
-
Adhere to policies and procedures within Greenbanks House
Person Specification
-
Must hold a full UK driving licence and have own means of transport
-
Experience within a care home or hospitality setting is ideal
-
Excellent organisational skills
-
Good communication skills, patience, a caring and compassionate nature and the ability to empathise with the residents is essential
-
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team is essential to achieve good outcomes
-
Willing to undertake training and personal development when required
-
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control procedures
-
Willing to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays

Reliability, flexibility, honesty, responsibility, and good interpersonal skills are key to this role
